Please help us support two causes with one workout...On Saturday, December 9th CrossFit The Swamp will be participating in a Fundraiser workout involving two great causes, please consider donating to these two causes, but there is no requirement to donate to participate in Saturdays workout, Thank you all!

Glenn’s story: Glenn is the father to four young children, a husband to Crossfitter, Eva, and a Boston Fire Fighter. As a Danvers resident, Glenn is the type of guy that plows his neighbor’s driveways free of charge. He would do anything for anybody!

Glenn was diagnosed with work related cancer a few years ago. He has battled and continues to battle the disease. Recently, the doctors at Dana Farber found a second tumor on Glenn’s heart. He received out-patient chemo for several months and was admitted to the Brigham & Women’s Hospital to received additional intensive chemotherapy. Glenn was in the hospital for about 30+ days where he received bone marrow & stem cell transplant therapy.

The Preston family is in need of your support. Glenn is out of work as he continues to fight the disease. With this fundraiser, we are hoping to lessen the strain on Glenn and his family so they can focus on Glenn's recovery.

Beantown’s story: Beantown Barbell Club is an Olympic weightlifting gym in Lynn, Massachusetts. They are closely connected to the Crossfit community. They have provided weightlifting coaching to games athletes, regional level athletes, and has collaborated with Ben Bergeron to provide a weightlifting programming to Comptrain users.

Their gym suffered devastating damage recently in a flash flood that was localized to their location. They lost a substantial amount of equipment, gear, and have been closed since September 30th. There is not any insurance available as a result of the flood. Coverage has already been denied.

Fred, the owner of Beantown, felt as though there were worthier causes than his. As a result, he wanted to combine fundraising efforts so that a 50% of the proceeds would go to support the gym and 50% to Glenn’s family.
